Hallmark in AAC mini-series double deal

The Hallmark Channel has acquired a pair of Alliance Atlantis' mini-series – Life With Judy Garland: Me & My Shadows (2×90') and Haven (2×90') – in an extensive multi-territory sale.

The Hallmark Channel has acquired the exclusive pay-TV rights for both mini-series in Latin America, Spain, Portugal, CIS (including Russia), Middle East and Italy, and in addition has acquired Life With Judy Garland: Me & My Shadows for Asia and Israel.

Life With Judy Garland: Me & My Shadows is a co-production between Alliance Atlantis and Germany's IN-motion, in association with Storyline Entertainment, for broadcast on ABC. It stars the Oscar-nominated Judy Davis (Deconstructing Harry) as Judy Garland.

Alongside Davis, Victor Garber (Titanic) appears as Judy's third husband Sid Luft; Hugh Laurie (Sense & Sensibility) as Vincente Minnelli, the famed director and Judy's second husband; and John Benjamin Hickey (The General's Daughter) as Judy's singing coach Roger Edens.

Haven is produced by Alliance Atlantis in association with Paulette Breen Productions, for CBS Television Network. It is based on the real-life experience of Ruth Gruber, a young Jewish American government official and her struggle in 1944 to escort almost 1,000 Holocaust survivors from war-torn Europe to a temporary haven in Oswego, New York.

Starring Natasha Richardson (Nell) in the lead role as Gruber, the mini-series follows Gruber's fight for the refugees to stay in America and her attempts to persuade the government to admit more refugees.

Academy Award-winners Anne Bancroft (The Miracle Worker) and Martin Landau (Ed Wood) star as Ruth's parents.

Colm Feore (The Insider), Henry Czerny (Mission Impossible), Shelia McCarthy (I've Heard The Mermaids Singing), Sebastian Roché (Merlin), Robert Joy (Nuremberg), Tamara Gorski (Murder at 1600), William Petersen (CSI), Hal Holbrook (Wall Street) and Bruce Greenwood (The Sweet Hereafter) also star.

Channel 4 picks up AAC's Judy Garland miniseries 17 May 2001
